The Sauternes by Yquem is an exclusive special bottling from Chateau d’Yquem, produced exclusively for deserving employees and good friends of the Yquem owner LVMH and not distributed through the trade.
Unlike the classic Yquem, whose quality is subject to the variations typical of the vintage, Chateau d’Yquem pursues the concept of the most consistent quality possible in this wine, which is achieved by combining several vintages together. This also makes the wine more accessible and has a pleasant freshness. To date, the following bottlings have been released:
- Sauternes 1: Bottled in 2014, cuvée of the four vintages from 2010 to 2013
- Sauternes 2: Bottled in 2016, cuvée of the five vintages from 2010 to 2014
- Sauternes 3: Bottled in 2017, cuvée of four vintages between 2011 and 2016
- Sauternes 4: Bottled in 2017, cuvée of three vintages between 2011 and 2016
- Sauternes 5: Bottled in 2019, cuvée of the three vintages from 2014 to 2016
- Sauternes 6: Bottled 2020, cuvée of four vintages between 2014 and 2019
- Sauternes 7: Bottled 2021, cuvée of four vintages between 2015 and 2020
- Sauternes 8: Bottled 2022, cuvée of four vintages between 2016 and 2020
