Producer tasting notes: (2016 vintage) “”An outstanding wine. Pale yellow colour. Complex floral nose of white lilac and white rose. Once open, fruity aromas come to the fore, evolving towards grilled hazelnut and almond. When the wine is more mature, the nose is surprisingly strong and fifteen minutes of aeration produce wonderful notes of white truffle, citron (cedrat), honey and nutmeg, elegantly meshed together. Very lively on the palate. Its rich texture is in evidence, but also its structure and minerality. It is round, but never heavy. Harmonious fullness in the aftertaste. This wine allies remarkably the complexity and elegance of a Bâtard-Montrachet with the power of a Corton-Charlemagne”.” – Joseph Drouhin

Savory and rich, but I think now is the time.

Ripe orchard and stone fruits throughout with summer flowers. Good depth, still nicely fresh with very good volume and enough brightness on its finish.

Rich and opulent nose with ripe fruits, honey and oak clearly apparent. Full bodied, rich but also very well balanced with tonic energy and very good length. This is a wine that would put many Charlemagne to shame.

Wine gathering at RJ’s; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying concentrated ripe succulent yellow fruit, lemon curd, yellow peach, tangerine, orange rind, subtle butter scotch, oak/vanilla and mineral. Excellent concentration, generous rich succulent yellow fruit, rich and opulent but also showing good balance, bright acidity, strong mineral and a long succulent yellow fruit driven finish with a hint of butter scotch at the end. This is a big scale ripe Burgundy that clearly expressive the vintage and terroir typicity.
