A great fun bottle for a 60th birthday gift. The label is faded as shown but clearly Brane Cantenac. It is also a rare bottling with a picture of the Chateau rather than the usual gold label, that I have always come across all my life!! This is another wine from this vintage that is holding up well.

Usually among my favorite 1966s, but tonight it just did not have the elegant spice and warm luxardo cherry that this often gets. That said it was a fine Margaux, just not rising to the level of the best bottles.

Très joli bouquet sur les fruits cuits, le cuir frais, des notes sanguines et de cèdre.
Bouche tout en élégance avec du volume et soyeux. La finale n’est pas inoubliable mais elle fait le boulot sur des notes ferreuses que j’aime particulièrement.
Encore un très joli Brane !

Classic, bright, with mushroom, earth, and library book. Delicate, medium bodied and resolved with red fruit. Great!
