The cvne imperial gran reserva is produced by the compañía vinícola del norte de españa (cvne) winery, this bottle is of the 1959 vintage, and was bottled in 1964. this wine is a deep ruby red colour, with orange highlights on the rim. on the nose, it has intense aromas of red fruit, plum, tobacco, leather and vanilla. on the palate, the cvne imperial gran reserva 1959 (ts) is rich, complex and well balanced, with soft tannins and refreshing acidity. there are the same red fruit and spice flavours as on the nose, with a long, lingering finish. this wine is at its peak and can be kept for several more years, if stored in appropriate conditions. it should be served slightly chilled, between 16 and 18 degrees celsius. it can be served with grilled red meat dishes, stewed dishes or mature cheeses.
